","date":"2025-10-19","time":"11:45:00","counsellor":"Jane Nguka","notes":"Marriage Therapy session.\nAgenda: REBUILDING TRUST.\n\nPRESENTING PROBLEM:- Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and  Communication.\n\nThe meeting started at 11.45pm  counsellor Jane opened the meeting by welcoming the members and also setting the meeting mood. She first engaged clients in a jovial discussion about the current happenings in the country and other  general common talks.\n\nPresenting Problem... The client was admitted for detox and counselling sessions for a period of 14 days.\nCounsellor Jane gave the members clients progress report. She said the client completed the detox sessions well and has also had three counselling sessions where he spoke with clarity and one of the major problems she identified during the therapy is poor communication and stress. The client after suffering financial setbacks got frustrated because he was not been able to give financial and emotional support to his family. As a result he has misinterpreted any form of comment from his wife as disrespectful and as a result would go out to drink alcohol.\nRebecca told the meeting that Cliffs substance use disorder started years after their marriage and she has tried talking to him to stop on many occasions and even help him set goals on how to quit SUD  but unfortunately this has not been realised. She says the habit has strained their relationship because she can't entertain the breath of an alcoholic this has made her distance herself from Cliff emotionally and as a result their union is strained, she sought help and agreed with Cliff to start the process of working on himself and practice sobriety. \nCliff told the meeting that he is sorry for the pain he has caused his spouse and promised to continue working on himself until his sobriety goals are achieved and Rebecca promised to support him.\nOn communication Jane guided the couples on how to communicate with one another effectively and respectfully and also to set clear boundaries that cannot create\/cause conflict between both of them and children.\n\nWay Forward;---Jane discussed and agreed with the clients to attend the aftercare therapy sessions for a period of six months starting from 6th of November.\n\nThe meeting closed with a word of prayer from the counselor at 2pm."},{"id":2,"patient":"Peter Kibet Bowen","family_members":"Mr and Mrs Bowen","date":"2025-10-04","time":"17:00:00","counsellor":"Evon caroline ","notes":"The family therapy started at 1700hrs. The parents were happy with the client progress and since it was amends making the clients asked for forgiveness from the parents and they said that they forgive him and will support him in everything he does as long as he is sober. They prayed for the institution for having their son and shared they were happy even to hold a meaningful  conversation  with him, which was not the case before. Family therapy was a success. He is on the working through phase of recovery  he has began to realised his mistakes and where he went wrong and he is r3ady to make amends. He also feels him and the wife they need to work together inorder to take care of their children.
